Do you think Kurt Cobain killed himself, or do you think he was murdered?

    I think he shot himself. Of course the people around him, Courtney Love especially, definitely helped push him to want to kill himself.

    Although his music had a huge impact on me and many other people around the world, he really was a tortured person and went through some really difficult times. The heroin addiction and terrible marriage were one thing, but the commercialization of his works really had a negative impact on him. I think he felt like a sell out and that he had sold his creativity to the highest bidder.

    he was murdered, Have you actually looked at the "suicide note".. all of it but the last 3-6 lines are about quitting the business of music, how he was unsatisfied and he wanted to spend more time with his daughter... and then the last lines looked completely different and thoses were the suicide lines.. they found a sheet of paper in courtney's backpack with her trying to practice to look like kurt's handwriting. Besides the fact that she was cheating on him, he was also divorcing her... since the fact that she would gain nothing in the settlement * she signed prenump thinking she would be bigger than nirvana and didnt want to share her money*
    Besides stating the obvious about his 3or more times the lethal dose in his blood stream, his neatly put away drugs in his pocket... It is also odd that Kurt's friend who was showing the P.I. courtney hired around the property didnt show him the room above the garage... which was a popular hangout to kurt. It is also very odd that courtney told the P.I. that she had no idea where Kurt was, when there was a phone call she received from Kurt telling her he was going to be in that house. Even courtney's own father said that she did it...

    I think Courtney Love killed him.

    It's not so much that I don't believe he would have killed himself, he definitely was a deeply disturbed person with way more problems than anyone deserved and I wouldn't have been at all surprised if he *Had* ended up committing suicide, but it just doesn't strike me as plausible for a person to take X10 the lethal dose of heroin and then still be coherent enough to shoot themselves in the head.

    im a nirvana fan myself and i have actually been researching this very topic and what i think happened is that he was murdered and this is because he had 4 times the amount of heroin in his body to kill a human and even if he had built up an immunity to the drug he still would have been out cold and there for not able of blowin his brains out someone else killed him pumped him full of "juice" and faked a suicide r.i.p kurt cobain

    I think there was some foul play involved in Kurt Cobain's death. I asked a physician whether it would have been possible for Cobain to shoot himself after consuming so much heroin. The physician adamantly stated that this was not possible. So I'm assuming that if I'm wrong and Cobain really did kill himself, then he had one hell of a heroin tolerance.

    Kurt Cobain killed himself. People who think he was murdered just cant accept that he would kill himself. However, I assure you if you were close to someone who killed themselves, you would also wish that there was some other explanation for what happened. But there isnt.

    honestly i think he didnt commit sucide because all the evidence doesnt add up ya Courtney was rather uhmm crazy and she somewhat told Kurt what to do, so i think she was involved of the death of the greatest icon in life but it was not sucide in the book "Who Killed Kurt Cobain? the mysterious death of an icon" it has evidence in the back that didnt add up to it being Kurt (killing himself with the shotgun) the fingerprints they found were not his...

    I think he killed himself.. I do not think Courtney killed him at all as I hear people say.. he stated his music would be more popular if he died.. He made quite a few statements such as this.
    He was heavily involved in drugs (not just Courtney)and alcohol. I believe other issues relating to family and NOT just his marriage contributed to his choice to end his life.
    He was a terrific performer but I believe he was not able to cope with his own demons or reality.

    the only real person who knows the answer to this question is Kurt himself. and we all know we can't get his input on that so, let's just put it to rest shall we. i'm not saying we should forget. i'm saying we should remember. remember how good of a musician Kurt was. we should just sit back and listen to his songs. and try to see it through his eyes. and what i mean by it is his material, the lyrics. try to put yourself in his shoes at the that time. and remember the good about things not the bad. face it. Kurt is dead. so, try to push pass that. it doesn't help to stay in one place. what makes someone better is to move forward. what i'm saying is just listen to the music more than you talk about how Kurt died.

    ok this question never going to end. Almost 14 years now and no one knows, they all have different theories. I have read books, and even read his journals. However things do seem out of place as to if he did to it or not. This isnt like Morrison who did die of an "accidental" Heroine overdose. I personally believe it was murder, however on the second thought it could have been suicide. He had admitted that he had been depressed and sometimes wished that he was dead. But in letters to his father he had said that he wanted custody of little Frances, and he was going to do whatever he could to get her into his custody. He had also wanted a divorce from Courtney, and he was about to do it and a month later he ends up dead. I also believe that as drugged up as they say he was, there is no chance that he would have been able to pick up even a gun.
    Either way no one is ever going to know, and if there is people who actually do know (besides the one that "confessed to killing him" and ended up dead)what are the chances of them confessing it?

    I know the guy lived a tortured life. I don't know if Courtney drove him to suicide or not.
    He was a heroin addict and that's something he agonized greatly over & felt he could never overcome.
    But he left us with "All Apologies", and that was pretty cool. Thanks Kurt, wherever you are.

    I think someone gave him some ultra pure heroin and then shot him to make sure he was really dead. Not enough blood at the scene which means his pulse was already quite slow at the time he was shot. The paraphernalia was neatly put away, sleeves rolled down etc. The question is whether it was assisted suicide or murder.

    One thing I have trouble understanding is: why the greenhouse? Because it was private? Because it would be easy to clean up? Or was he afraid and hiding in there with the shotgun for protection? Did he hang out in the greenhouse often? Why didn't he drink the whole can of root beer? Did he drink just enough to swallow the Valium? Maybe someone shot him up when be was passed out from the valium? In one of Tom grants scene photos there is a pillar candle that had been burned. How did it get blown out? Why didn't anyone hear the shotgun blast? Why did he have all those receipts in his pockets -- the one for the shotgun and ammo, the first class ticket stub from the flight to Seattle. Seems like overkill, like the stuff was planted. Also why did he book another flight out of Seattle for two people? Who was using his credit card? Why did they find his dodge at a friend's house -- who drove him back to lake Washington blvd?

    The nicest scenario I can imagine is that he faked his death to maximize his net worth and that maybe he sees Frances every now and then. But that is very implausible.

    Ok, well I wasn't supposed to say anything, I was told to keep this to myself, but I can't stand to see you guys like this. Dry your eyes, Kurt Cobain is alive and well....not so fast, this does not mean that there is going to be a Nirvana reunion tour in the near future, there's not. The Foo Fighters are still quite successful and Dave is not going to risk that, no how. And the other ex Nirvana dudes are doing pretty well with their porno careers, that's finally starting to take off so.....but anyway Cobain's death was an elaborate hoax to cover up what was really going on, you see the government....wait, did you guys hear that? There it is again, this is not a secure connection, I'm getting North Korean symbols flashing in the corner of my screen, I may have said too much already, signing off for now.

    Many people are into the belief that Kurt Cobain was killed, and have come up with reasons to believe it. While nobody is actually sure, it is accepted by most hard core Cobain fans that he did in fact kill himself.

    I think he shot himself, but I think he had many influences in doing that. They found a gun where he lived, so I think he shot himself. Look at his songs. Three months before he died, he finished recording his song, "You Know You're Right". The whole song is him saying that you're right. Could the person he talked about in that song("you're") make him wanna kill himself? Could that person be the world?

    His music impacted the whole world. If he didn't die, he would have had an amazing career for himself right now. He would still be making new songs today. I think he had too many pressures from the music industry, and in life, and he didn't want to continue with it. His marriage to Courtney Love didn't really help with his struggles. She pushed him over the edge. His death meant so much to so many people, he was an amazing artist. His lyrics, his song, his music that he made was brilliant.

    I think Kurt Cobain didn't actually pull the trigger, he had an assisted suicide, he wanted to off himself, but he didn't acutally want to do it. Besides they found someone elses' finger prints on the gun, that should be evidence enough that he didn't kill himself. Courtney Love helped him think he wanted to kill himself, by telling him to just go ahead and kill yourself.

    i think he was murdered. the facts just dont add up. like the fact that he agreed to get clean when he got back to Seattle.Eldon Hoke confessed that courtney love came to him and offered him 50 grand to kill kurt shortly after confessing he when for a walk w a man friends had never seen before they did see eldon alive again his body was found on a set of train tracks. kurt had 3 times the lethal doses of heroin in his system. im sorry but if you have that much heroin in your system even if you r a junkie wouldnt you not be able to function?? so how would he be able to hold a shotgun? the "suicide" letter 1. is mostly about him leaving nirvanna 2. the last 4 lines are about suicide but they weren't in his handwriting. also if you shot yourself in the head wouldnt there be alot of blood? well according to reports there was a very small pool of blood next to him maybe it was the heroin that slowed down his blood flow idk but that just doesnt make sense. kurt also talked in an interview that if he killed himself he would have just od why would you try to od then shoot yourself? also he just had a daughter who was very important to him she was part of the reason he turned down going on tour which made him alot of enemies even courtney was mad at him because he lost alot of money by doing so and that he lost millions of dollars for other ppl making him worth more dead then alive. you can youtube unsolved mysteries kurt cobain and it will tell you bout most of what i just said with more details.
