Sleeping

The whooole thing
-
The awkward but inevitable moment when you ask if they'll be serving alchohol on this flight. I just love that one little moment, the whole rest of the experience I could live without.
-
The runway and getting off in a Foreign country. Dont like landing! SCARY xx
-
landing safe
-
The not crashing and dying part.
-
Taking off and looking out of the window. To this day I have a mini tantrum if my seat isn't by the window on a family holiday, never mind the kids, I want that seat! Also the part where they do a life jacket demonstration. Nobody ever listens...
-
I don't like flying..or falling... but I do like the view from up there. Puts the size of ourselves and our lives in persective to the size of the world
-
Taking off and landing...in a Jet that's normally about the most exciting part of the trip. In a smaller plane...you can have lots of excitement, even if everything is running perfect and it's a beautiful day...you can do STUNTS! My Dad was a pilot (small planes) and I used to fly with him as often as we had money to rent a plane!
-
the shortness of the trip compaired to ground transportation. THAT AND not crashing !
-
the free peanuts
-

The acceleration in takeoff and the deceleration when landing. The other part, are extremely boring. And I also like when they are some small turbulences...
-
Takeoffs & Landings...and of course TURBULENCE!!
-
Video taken from the cockpit of a Boeing 747 landing at the old Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong. I believe it was widely considered to be a real mother of a place to land a plane. Those planes are HUGE. You don't really get the sense of the size from the video, but watching one, in person, as it lands is just amazing. I'm partial to take-offs myself. The feeling of increasing super speed combined with sheer raw power is unbelievable.
-
Taking off! I love the feeling when you're pushed back in your seat and you hear the thrust of the jet engines! Then you feel your guts go up your stomach towards your throat! So fast!!!
-
I like when the plane slowly starts to descend. Then you can see the city below you from a birds eye view.
-
The Bloody Marys. I used to fly a lot for work, and the company would always pay full fare on Delta. You could upgrade to First Class for $90.00 from a full fare. I always used to pay the $90.00, because I loved to be seated and have a Bloody Mary served before they would let anyone else on the plane. Of course, that first Bloody Mary was following on the two or three that I already had in the Crown Room! :-)
-
Not driving. The second best part is getting off the plane
-
definitely landing. A nervous passenger once asked a stewardess: how often do your planes crash? Her anser: just once! :-)
-
The opportunity to join the 'mile-high club'.
-
From a general aviation pilot standpoint, the freedom that it gives you and looking down at all the traffic on the freeway!
-
For me all of flying is the best part.. I really cannot think of any aspect that beats out all the rest...unless it would be doing a maximum performance takeoff in a high-performance aircraft.. Then you know how the angels feel!
-
I think the best part for me is the wonderful thoughts about aviation that I get whenever I board a plane. Regardless of whether I am flying the plane, deadheading, or going on vacation, I think aviation is representative of freedom, collaboration, unity, and technology. It brings together countries, cities, and even families.

Being completely in control of my own destiny.

Well... High Flight (aka: Pilot's Creed) Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue, I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace Where never lark, or even eagle flew - And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God. I'll go with touching the face of God.

Definitely not the food!
