Why do we seek what seperates us rather than what joins us?

I don't think we seek it as much as we focus on it. And that's for different reasons, because of worrying insecurities, negative outlooks, etc.

The natural man in us will always yell this out "we are not like you and him or her". We just desire to be different from others. I remember this satirical statement in the the book Animal Farm - All are equal but some more equal than other. There are people in politics who would strive on diversity and inequality to remain in power. The divides could come in various forms like race, religion, color, culture, language, etc and the list can go on and on.

In my view, we( our mind) thinks in a way what we had fed it earlier. More grinding/excavation is necessary in this regard

I think the problem is people don't seek either one, That may be one of the reasons nothing changes. It's too easy to settle... It's a shame..
