Embarassingly...yes i do. Kind of pathetic that I get a sense of accomplishment from something intangible and (arguably) trivial like that.

I don't feel more important, but I do like it when I get higher rating privileges.

Yes, slightly. It's that bag filling up that pushes you - and as you run your mouse over the level you can see that it's almost there and.... a new tag!! Doesn't mean I'm smarter - just spent more time punching out opinions that no-one really cares about on AB!

Somewhat, but hey what does it matter. Mind you i think it takes around 1000 points from my current level to the next level and that's a lot of answers.

No I do not to be honest I actually went to bed when I only had a few points to go for Sage, it is not that important, although being able to give more points in appreciation of a good question or answer is nice. I do enjoy watching the points grow beacause that means somebody has appreciated something I have written but the importance of being 'important' is not an issue.

No, I don't. the novelty of levels wore off after about a day of me seeing them. I look at some of the higher ranking users and think 'how did the hell did you manage that?! You only joined (yesterday)!' Likewise there are other users who are far lower in the levels than they ought to be. The injustice of the ratings/rankings system takes the 'inmportant' feelings away. Plus, I don't really feel I deserve my level given that roughly half my points have come from moderating.

Not really. I actually prefer going down, like I am now. I have gone from number one to number 3, and I am far happier. The importance of points is just an unnecessary hype. It seems to be no reflection on actual achievement as far as I am concerned. Now the people at the top are those who have earnt it, and all is well with the world. We don't need badges to make us feel important
