YOU are asking this?
-
I think it would be honest, I'll never knock em for that.
-
Who honestly supports abortion? It's Pro-Choice, not Pro-Abortion.
-
Not any more harsh and cruel than it would be for anyone else to say it, I suppose.
-
No not at all. The bible supports abortion. It wasn't a big deal back in that time either. It was even advertised during colonial times here. Why Abortion is Biblical: http://www.elroy.net/ehr/abortion.html

In light of 2Tim 4:3,4; taking scriptures out of context to make it seem as if the Bible encourages Abortion does not surprise me. The scriptures show that God had love for and laws to protect fetuses. Ex 21:22,23; Ex 23:26; Ps 127:3; Psalms 139:14-16. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exo21:22-23;Exo23:26;Psa127:3;Psa139:14-16;2Tim4:3-4;&version=9;16;8;50;78;

I am not a big fan of abortion, but I am a big fan of people's right to choose such things.
-
everybody has their reasons. i'm religious and a lot of my views have caught people off guard too. i don't think it would be harsh/cruel
-
You can be for abortion for the right reasons. It shouldn't be used as a form of birth control for careless girls who can't keep their panties on.
-
Do you in all honesty want to stand before our savior at Judgment and have to argue THAT view point? Seriously? After He said he would be more merciful on someone who committed suicidal than on someone who harmed a hair on the head of a child. God help you!
-
While abortion is not right for me, I can't judge another who chooses that path. I would encourage women to have the baby and give it up for adoption as there are thousands of couples waiting for a baby. I have an employee who was raped by a crack head and chose the abortion for obvious reasons. She was 15.

I live in a country where abortion is illegal. I don't support it but I actually gave money to a young woman to have one. Kill me!
-
I don't think so, i know many Christians who believe that yes abortions are wrong but if used for the right reason, such as rape, then it isn't as bad. It's helping. Just because you believe in God doesn't mean that you have to follow everything He said.

I don't know about harsh or cruel, but it would be very hypocritical. 'Thou shalt not murder' is pretty clear.
-
More hypocritical than anything else.

I think it's hard to not support abortion but to support birth control. I'm on the fence about this one. Some methods of birth control on the market will kill a fertilized egg (the pill, IUD, etc). But society tends to see that as a miscarriage. Just a thought that was mentioned to me...would you rather see a woman get an abortion or choose to carry the baby while hurting it for 9 months? Drinking, smoking, drugs, unprotected sex, and abuse will affect the baby. So when the baby is born severly abnormal and no one wants it, what then? The number of children in the adoption system that are "not perfect" is staggering and sad. No one wants these children.

I don't see how. One of the groups who lobbied for abortion to be legalized in the US was a group of Christian Clergy known as Clergy Consultation Service on Abortion. Exodus does not treat causing a woman to miscarry against her will (this part is important, as it never mentions anything about willful pregnancy termination) as a murder: "When men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no harm follows, the one who hurt her shall be fined, according as the woman’s husband shall lay upon; and he shall pay as the judges determine. If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth."--Exodus 21:22-24 As you can see, the only part considered anything other than a fine is if harm is incurred by the woman. Numbers 5:11-21 describes a procedure for discovering if a woman has committed adultry that some believe is designed to induce abortion if the woman has conceived. It is also to be noted that none of the mass killings in the Bible make any exception for pregnant women or infants.

Asking that would be like asking a X-ian not to be a hypocrite. It would cruel and unusual punishment
