Is learning a second language in high school more difficult than learning in post secondary education? I ask because as we mature I feel it is "easier" to learn as we age.

In terms of learning language, the earlier you learn it the longer it stays with you and the easier it is, due to the way the brain develops.
Of course if you immerse yourself in that language (like moving overseas and speaking only that language) it is a very effective way to learn language.

It is easier for a 4 or 5 year old to learn a secondary language than an older child. This is due to the fact that language isn't a word for word exchange, but an idea or thought related interpretation.
