Why do we wear socks or pantyhose?

I try my best not to wear pantyhose but I have to at least have socks on at all times. I feel naked without my socks.

i wear socks because i have cold feet most of the times. i even wear two pair of socks most of the time, preferably all non-matching.

Well, people have developed that as a culture. If you don't wear socks with tennis shoes, it could be taken as bad manners.

I like my feet to be warm so i wear socks. I think heeled shoes much look better with pantyhose, unless they are heeled sandals then bare legs are acceptable

Socks were worn to protect the shoes as well as keep the feet warm. Shoes were not so plentiful as today and you had to make your shoes last a long time. Socks protected the feet and inside of the shoes from sweat, dirt and dead skin.

I wear socks primarily because it feels better that way in my shoes, also to keep my toes cold in this awful winter weather we are having! I never weear pantyhose! I feel as though I can't breath in them!

I wear socks to absorb sweat and odour and to make wearing shoes more comforable...I never wear pantyhose...they are a breeding ground for stench and very nerve wracking to wear

I do it to for several reasons To keep my feet warm Cause I don't think people want to see my feet They are more comfortable then wearing the shoe by iteslf. And since Saturday is the only day of the week I can wear jeans I do it because it looks nicer. (I wear dress pants M-F and Sunday)

Socks to keep feet warm and dry. Pantyhose (or some variation of, i.e., thigh highs), for me, is because it's drescode if I am in the office.

To keep our feet warm, also to absorb moisture to prevent blistering of our feet, as well as hide those horrible looking things called feet. LOL.

i CANNOT wear pantyhose! anyone who can and does has great talent! i wear socks with my tennis shoes and beaver creeks because i cannot wear them with no socks! its just too uncomfortable! but with my heels i wear no socks because it looks too tacky. with flipflops i wear no socks but sometimes you can wear toe-socks. i hear its coming back in style....i think its actually pretty cute but for me its too hot in the summer and thats when i wear flipflops.

I wear pantyhose for a few reasons. I love the look and feel of a high-quality pair of pantyhose. They complete outfits for me, and the sheerness is very sexy. I wear socks otherwise, because I can't wear shoes with bare feet.

Socks for warmth and cushion, pantyhose because they look nice and are feminine. Bare feet in shoes is too gross, I would never look twice at a lady, in a dress and heels with bare legs unless it is hot outside.
