What is the point of getting one of the best educations in the nation when going to a lesser but good university is stable enough, and money doesn't buy happiness later on?

Money may not buy happiness, but it buys relief from anxiety. Its also sadly true that the best universities make the best money and with that they acquire as many as they want of the best tutors, to provide the best education. The financial reward is only in recognition that your education was elite. Don't you want to know as much as you can?

and, when you might get laid-off after a few years and then where will you be? (a top degree can get you your first job, it will NOT get you your second job) also, a well-planned program at a lesser university is better than a poorly planned program at the most expensive university money does make it a lot easier to be happy money can buy the absence of things that make us unhappy
