  • I would only want the best for my child or my friend, so if turning them in is the best thing to do for them, then I guess I would. Maybe the police could help them or teach them not to do it again, or prevent them from doing something even more serious than what they've done.
  • Coincidentally, I have just answered a very similar question from another member. But I'll answer this one as well: No, I wouldn't shelter my friend or child if I knew they had committed a serious crime. If there is a serious crime, there is also a victim. My friend or child would have to take responsibility for their wrong doing and face up to consequences. I would not turn my back on my child and would give them my support to cope with whatever punishment they are getting; but I would want to see them pay for what they did so they learn from it.
  • No! I would blackmail them.
  • It is illegal. You will be putting yourself at risk with the rest of your family. It could even cause damage to the social stability of your family circle. If something like that happens, I will talk to him or her and convince him or her to to to the police. If that doesn't work, just say, "Sorry, but you can't stay here"..., and tell the authorities
  • It really would depend on the crime and the circumstances. I can't say just yes or no.
