I cannot feed the birds anymore because of our cats but I have bluebird houses.I have had a pair stay all Winter and I have no idea what they are eating.I thought they ate bugs and we have snow on the ground.Same with the Robins.I miss feeding the birds.I had all kinds that would come to the feeder.

No because it also draws unwanted frineds such as bears, moose, wolves, etc.

There is nothing like a bird in your hand and a nest in the bush.

I feed the birds year round. I want to put up bluebird houses but have not yet done it. I have a couple of wren houses that get quite good use. :)

How cool! What kind of birds are they?I have a few bird feeders in my yard near the window so my cats can watch.I also feed the birds on our morning walks. We are able to call them in with a whistle and I photograph them. The first photo is my husband feeding a black-capped chickadee and the second is a closer look at him.

I have a nest box built over the shop door for Phoebes (who brood 2 batches of chicks every year)... I have a couple of bluebird houses, and I get cardinal nests in my forsythia (sp?) bush. I have a cat roaming loose outside to control the mice that try to get in the house in the fall, so I've had to stop feeding the birds (lest they become food for the cat). I have also had to put an electric fence under the forsythia bush - which keeps the cat out of the cardinals in grand style... It's fun to watch, too - because cats - who are so instinct driven to hunt - become driven to kill, and are suddenly stupid and narrow focused. He'll get in "kill" mode and hit the fence 3 or 4 times before he gives up and stares at it with his ears flat, his eyes squinted and his tail flicking. When he does hit the fence, he makes a squalling noise, leaps into the air, twists around and runs and climbs the nearest tree while he studies to see what "bit" him. Every time he does, you get to call him a dumbass and wait for the next round. He is a reaally, really good cat, and we really like him - so I choose the electric fence over getting rid of him.

I have lots of little bird houses all around our yard. The little Jenny Wrens love to nest in the tiniest ornamental houses. I love to watch them and have them here all year 'round.

I hate birds. They keep shitting on my car.

Yes, I have a few birdhouses, feeders and a couple of birdbaths. I really enjoy the bird watching.. my cats do too, they sit in the window and take it all in.

I live in an apartment and birds don't usually come up to the balcony but I do put peanuts out on the ledge for the squirrels. Besides that, sometime I throw bread to the ducks
