Nobody does anything to us unless we allow it.

Several ways to answer this one. Please note I am not anti-semitic. I could write why people hate the Christians, Muslims, atheist just as easily. I beleive the Jews have had a bad press but it is a good question and so I wil ltry ot answer. Some are generalisations so appologies to people who hate that... Only numbers 4 and 7 do I think has any real merit in it today. 1) The Death of Christ. The Jews are often blamed for arranging Christ to be handed over to the Romans 2)Jealousy. The Jewish people throughout history have been fairly successful in business. Especially re money lending. When people struggle ot make ends meet and borrow - they often blame the lender for their troubles... Shilock in the Merchant of Venice - gives Jews a bad name. Generalisation but I have normally found they have been successful due to hard work! 3) Crusades - The Jews did make money from both sides during the Crusades. 4) The displacement of the Palestinians. After the holocaust, the Jewish people were given their own state- Israel. The problem is that that involved giving away Palestinian lands to them. Not surprisingly the Palestinians were not happy. (Just as much Britain and Americas fault as the Jews.). 5) Religion - superiority. The Jewish people beleive they are the chosen people. Only they will go to heaven. Therefore everyone else is inferior. (This could be said for most religions). 6) Not conforming. The Jewish people have not been quick to conform. (I dont think they should have to but others do...) Orthodox Jews are proud of their religion and are therefore are easily recognisable. People mistrust others who do ont conform to the "normal" way of life. I mean normal as in different from others. (What is normal?)... 7) Finally the only one I think has any real validity. Israel has broken many UN laws. (Forgotten the right word). With US backing. Israel has gone totally unpunished for this. Whereas Iraq Iran etc. are made to tow the line. If you are a muslim or an Arab you are likely to see this as unjust. (Of course if you are surrounded by Conutries that want to wipe you off the face of the Earth, you are likely to be paranoid and need to take unilateral actions). So Im an atheist, but I dont find Jews to be bad people. And certainly not more than the average religious peoples. Like I said at the start - I cna find reasons against all peoples... but that doesnt make it right.
