  • DR = downrate. It doesn't make a difference to your overall user score, but it does kind of sting when you get downrated, especially if you don't believe your answer should have received one, and also if it leaves a perfectly good (or at least not-bad) answer at the bottom of the list with a -5. Sure, with a controversial question or answer, downrating might be expected...but sometimes people downrate just to be jerks, or specifically target someone who ticked them off. All you can do is give the best answers you can. If there is someone who seems to be following you around and downrating you, that's grounds for moderator action. Otherwise, it's just part of the game, and you kinda have to live with it.
