Because I didn't wanted to wait until Christmas to get the records (what are those?) that would no longer be on the top 40 charts by the time Christmas rolled around. I lied about my age and my doctor didn't even catch that when he performed my work physical! I was age 14 and waiting tables, bringing home great tips every day. :) I've worked ever since, all the way through college.
