It's a serious risk. Since viruses mutate all the time, and conditions in China are ideal for the virus to cross the species barrier, I think the risk of viral epidemics is very real. Sars also is waiting to make a comeback.

If it was as big a risk as all the scare-mongering scientists like to make out, we'd all have it by now!
-
the first person that said we'd have it by now? may not be aware that the virus can only transmit person to person once specific strain mutates to do so, for more information vist www.fightflunow.com its a great website with everything you need to know about this potential pandemic
-
Actual risk now? probably pretty low Potential risk? when it makes the leap? massive. it was killing about 50%.
-
The threat has been probably been extremely exaggerated. It's probably scaremongering engineered by the drug companies to sell anti-flu drugs.
-
i have spanish influenza, are this and the bird flu the same?
-
None... Not for the everyday person. Maybe if you worked in a badly run chicken farm or something, but for the general public, I think it is no risk at all.
