I do think most man/boys get offended because to many man pretty is a term used on females. i have a three year old son and i like to tell him he's pretty...his response to me is "MAMI NO, PRETTY IS FOR GIRLS, IM CUTE CUZ IM A BOY" cute is more preferable for man as well as handsome and sexy...LOL

It's usually associated with being feminine, and I supose it offends their masculinity.

Guys know if I call them stud I'm kidding because I wouldn't ever use the word stud to describe a really good looking man. If I do see one I call them gorgeous or beautiful. So if a guy knows that they know pretty is a good thing.
