  • Colas for cleaning glass. (but NOT orange soda!LOL!!) My dad always used coke to clean our windshields. His mom saw that and then one day she wanted to clean the windshield herself and didn't have coke, she had Orange Crush. So she figured it would work just as well:-) What a sticky sweet gloppy mess she made. My dad was furious! Cut a lemon in half. Pour a little puddle of salt. Dip the cut lemon into the salt and this is great for scrubbing surfaces, cleaning cutting boards, polishing brass and copper. It cleans and deodorizes. Put a sheet of aluminum foil in your sink or in a pan. Boil some water. Add some salt and about 1-2 cups of baking soda. Place a silver item in contact with foil. Pour water with soda over the item. It will make all the tarnish disappear.

The pumice stone you use for rough skin on heels and elbows is great for cleaning the toilet bowl and the inside of your oven. (check in a small, hidden spot first to be sure it won't scratch yours.)
