No, but it's not running all on the cylinders, and the timing is way off. Translation- WAY too much is devoted to waste. In the military alone, I saw WAY too much devoted to covering folk's hineys instead of fixing the problem.
-
Yes, there are far far too many folks who are in power who are appointed, instead of being voted in. Such breeds a lack of accountability, and arrogance.
-
Yes, there is far far too much secrecy in the name of protecting the government officials from the people.

No it is performing just as the big business world would like it to. It has shaped and molded based on how big business seen fit for the past 100 or so years. In fact I would say it is stream lined money making machine for them.

Yes, it's the Incredible Shrinking Superpower.
-
Yep, it is completely gone. Sold Out by the government.

No doubt about it. The first reason it's broken is because only a little over half of the eligible voters go out and participate in their government by voting. 2000 55.3% 2004 60.7% 2008 62.3% George Mason Univ. United States Elections Project, total ballots counted /voting-eligible population. Think about it. Even the hoopla over the Obama candidacy only brought out 2.3% more voters than the 2004 election. The mid terms tell a tale. This is the election that sets the Congress, where all the law start. 2002 40.5% 2006 41.3% In the 2008 primaries, where the country decides the direction it wants to go, only one state, New Hampshire broke 50%. Only 4, Vermont, Ohio, California and Oregon hit 40%. If this is any indication the number of calls and letters to Congress is probably to small to make a statistic. Is it any wonder that our government is broken? We need to be politically active. Write letters(e-mail), call - act up!!!

Feel it? I know it. They admit it. and even more troubling, there is nothing anyone can do about it.
-
Yes :)

Broken?....Try Shattered and in need of new parts.

No I don't. With the auditing of the government books they have found some very interesting issues on how certain expenses were kept off the books and I don't mean 100 dollars I mean all the Iraq and Afghanistan war expenses during 8 years. The government will cut expenses, today it was announced where and how much they will save with the cuts. All we need is a bit of patience and hope, things will get better you will see. If we waited 8 years to find out the mess we were in why not wait a few months to get out of it.
-
Broken? Yes, into microscopic pieces. Morally bankrupt, financially bankrupt, and severely corrupt.
-
In a nutshell. America is a failed Nation. Of which it will not return.
