It is different for each age group. There are more boys born, but by the time they hit 30 the odds change. Boys get killed more often than girls.. eg. younger age diseases, dumb stunts, hit by cars, etc... more prone to try dangerous acts... older is drunkedness, car racing, war, and protecting manhood by fighting etc.
