Answer for the fisrt part: I've found getting boned is just a part of life for guys, even when it happens where you dont' want it to. As for the showering naked thing: Take these factors into account when you make that decision - Are you proud of your cock? Do you care if other guys see or even blatantly look at your cock? Just how clean do you really want to be after that long and sweaty workout when you have to go back to work?

Showering naked is the usual in all locker rooms I've been in. The extent to which you remain naked afterwards varies - follow the lead of others. However, if being seen naked is your intention it's perfectly appropriate to stay naked in the locker room. I'm a straight guy but have had erections showering. Sometimes its the result of thinking about the women in leotards in the gym etc. or just the thrill of being seen naked. I've walked from shower tio locker with half a hard-on several times before. No-one has ever said anything, but I know there have been some looks.

If you pop wood in the showers only once, it's probably nothing to worry about. If you pop wood all the time, though, it means that your gay, or maybe bi. I've never seen anyone shower when they were not completely naked. You would look really weird if you weren't naked in the showers.
