Do you respect to religious leaders?

I give my respect on an individual basis. Religious leaders are men -- not God. Some men deserve respect and some do not.

I wouldn't give them anymore respect than I would for anyone else. They are not 'special'. They know no more than you or I, they are no more intelligent, and are no better. Some do good work, most don't.

no..why would I? At least political leaders make decisions, enforce things, bring new ideas and changes into fruition...religious leaders do what? Read from a book? It's not like they make decisions on gods behalf or work miracles or directly commune with god...so what do they do that deserves respect? The only thing that makes them leaders is they are more charismatic than other religious people..they aren't elected perse by the people or anything. Not to mention, I'm not religious so why would I care about them? Seems to me all they do is rally people to support a twisted cause.
