I think if the pregnancy is the result of rape or molestaion, then abortion is understandable.
-
well im against abortion because i think its wrong. if someone gets pregnant then they should give the baby a chance of life. if they dont want the baby then they could have the baby adopted. its too easy for people to just have an abortion and then say they feel guilty afterwards. And then there is the fathers why do they not have a say, i know its the womans body but its the fathers baby aswell. its a difficult subject that no one will ever agree on.

Wow, this is a big question and I am a little weary to answer this one. In my OPINION... I think that abortion is okay for a few reasons. I think that in a rape / incest situation an abortion is okay. I also think that abortion is okay because a woman has the right to do whatever she wants to her own body, and abortion falls under that category. Another point for the pro side is that, without it, I believe that more babies would be killed by their parents like has recently happend on my local news, or abandoned on doorsteps, which has also recently happend on my local news. On the other hand, I believe that because abortion is available to the public, it makes it easy for some women to get pregnant and abort it, as if it were just like going to the dentist every few months. In my opinion the need for abortion in some situations outweighs the side that would outlaw abortion. Again, I say that this is only my opinion and I dont demand anyone else to think or feel the same way as I do.

Abortion to me is okay under a couple of circumstances... to me being raped is a reason to get an abortion, i think that if you feel you are too young and that if you dont think that you are ready financially, physically and emotionally than it is acceptable because it is wrong to bring a child to this world to suffer...but also keep in mind to try to have the abortion as soon as possible, it is really sad to abort a child who's heart is already beating inside of you. alot of people are against abortion because they see it as murder...they see it as you have to accept responsibility for your actions and this is true...very true, but these people fail to see how much kids suffer when their parents abuse then, abandon them or neglect them. i am for abortion...there are limits to when to get an abortion, but i understand why many woman make this decision.

I have my own PERSONAL set of criteria for when an abortion is ok: *health risks to the mother *rape & incest *severe deformities of the fetus to the extent that a miscarriage or still birth will undoubtedly occur and it is safer to act sooner *stupid, super young teengage pregnancies (which should be followed up with mandatory education ...but I don't vote my personal criteria. Politically, I can not support the idea of the government making laws about the governance of my own body. I think so many people are against it because they do not understand all the different possible circumstances (they are uneducated on the matter), or because they truely believe it is wrong. They see it as murder. They do not believe in the free will of an adult woman. They worry about over using abortion. Abortion as opposed to the prevention of pregnancy. They worry about abortion being manipulated in to a money-making mechanism with stem cell research.

For some people, it's a no-no unless it's incest or rape. I'm not fond of shirking responsibility, but I don't consider a zygote a human yet, so I don't consider it murder.

I was adopted when i was 2 months old so i don't believe it's the right thing to do.... BUT I do believe that if the kid is going to be born deformed or handicapped, if its a case of rape no woman is going to want to have that kid, nor should she be obligated to release it upon the world, if delivery is going to kill her... but not because she couldn't keep her legs closed. OK, I said it, bring on the onslaught of backlash. but i wont apologize.
-
It's good because it allows woman that don't want or aren't ready for a kid to stop being pregnant. It prevents many babies from being born with unloving parents and makes it so a mother doesn't have to live with one bad choice
-
That think that good or bad is not the issue. It seems to be an issue that wont go away because there is two mode of opinion on this subject, with way too many variables to judge it as good or bad.The circumstances should be weighed by the person that has to make that final decision. There is no solid yes or no answers to this dilemma and whatever is decided by the person should not be judged unfairly by others.
-
I'm not sure it would be considered "good", rather "the lesser of two evils". People will tell you it is "bad" using arguments around the sanctity of human life, the definition of that life and the fact they consider abortion at any stage of pregnancy to be murder. Others will say that, up to a certain stage of pregnancy, it is a woman's choice. They will say that, at a very early stage of pregnancy an abortion gets rid of nothing more than a few cells, albeit cells that if left to develop would BECOME a human. Personally, I am for having the choice.
-
i dont think an abortion is okay at all. i mean why take a life. you made the baby knowing you werent ready to take the consequences if something was to go wrong, so why kill another soul for your foolish mistake. take this in mind what you make is what you raise.
-
Abortion is a decision that is between a woman and her doctor. An abortion is a medical procedure and therefore should be treated like any other medical procedure. I cant say in what circumstances an abortion is right or wrong, because I am not living that persons life. What to me may seem like a minor problem may be overwhelming to another, and by that same token what may be overwhelming and more then I can handle may seem minor to someone else. If the question is about ensoulment, my personal belief is that ensoulment takes place when the infant is born, before that the fetus is a potential life and does not take precedence over the mothers choices or life or health (mental or physical).

Its ok if you think it will ruin your figure! Joax! In my opinion I think the people who are most against it are woman because we are designed to have an empathetic approach to life. If were my choice, I'd be against abortion in any situation because life is life and everything happens for a reason. Given this opinion, at this early stage in understanding life, I feel there is a void of information that means the choice is there to make. At this point I think 'responsibility' comes into play. In a work situation, we are given responsibility based on our qualifications. Given that in the universe, almost every female is arbitrarily given the qualifications to be a mother, it is whether we take the responsibility on as a task, if given, or outsource it. Otherwise, we can stay away from the 'Boss' so he doesn't have the opportunity to pass the work onto you. If he manages to hunt you down because he knows only you can fulfil the required task, then how is he to know whether you outsourced it online to the best tender and emailed him the results by the 'deadline'. As long as the job gets done, the Boss will be happy. Hence, it is up to you to choose how to finish the task that has been given! My aboriginal friend was adopted out due to the 'circumstances' at which he was conceived and had he not have been born; I would not have the wonderful friendship. He is the warmest and kindest person whom I have had the pleasure to grow up with. J is an aboriginal who is always complemented on his wonderful nature. A few people have even said they will have to re-evaluate their previously generalized opinions based on aboriginals as a whole. What a stark comment and reminder of our preconceptions that can be somewhat based on measurements given to us, as opposed to based on experience. The old 'good news takes longer to spread' concept. Well J is an asset to the human race, not only to the aboriginals. J. is a very spiritual being who believes there is a God, yet he was not brought up in a religious environment. He believes so much that it annoys me because I don’t care to listen to the word God used as a gap filler to replace logic and 'true understanding'. So, it can be correctly assumed, we have some amazing debates! He is backed into a corner every time with philosophy and facts, yet he won’t break. Pretty strong character for the universe to have here. I think! It gets deeper and to the level of understanding as to why and how he was conceived as he was. And, might I add, mean that I would not have found the answers for, had he not been given the opportunity to speak his mind in and through life. So an initial summary: there is no good reason to deny a life, there is only reason to supply it, with an environment that will encourage the best qualities to flourish. And with an upbringing that encourages hard work and independence to the point of self worth. If one can not offer this or that, then there are plenty of people who can and are willingly looking for a life to love. After all the greatest of human achievements in science have evolved from what seemingly were classed as mistakes! I myself choose to adopt when I am ready for kids, it has been my dream since I was 7 years old and witnessed starving children in Africa. It was not possible to adopt back, not purely because I was only seven, but due to the communication barriers, that have since been lowered and now (thanks to good old time and the bits in between) it is possible. Let’s hope my dream of having a clone comes true to. Imagine that nevet; you think one of me is bad... imagine TWO!!! :) (Apologise for the essay length answer, I think about life every second of everyday and it is the first and last thing I think about every day. I can’t get enough of it... I Love it!

Up to the 3rd trimester. People like to find a simple, emotional cause and get behind it without really thinking about it. Most anti-abortion pundits and extremists are lonely, disenfranchised men without much else to do.
-
i never think abortion is ok. Never, never, never. And i think people are against abortion because they consider it murder. Because even tho they dont have an earthy body, they still have a soul.
-
Go get an education and then you might stop embarassing yourself. I think you may well have just proved that in some cases, termination is a valid option. Ironic that.
-
Obviously you are too one sided to understand any opposing answers, so I assume you are just trying to push your beliefs on people? A fetus doesn't have a say in the abortion because it's a fetus....It's practically an inanimate object, why don't people count them in a census, or when they get tables to order at a restaurant? If you are against abortion, don't do it....
-
IN MY OPINION. The fetus cannot be considered alive until it is far enough along that it could survive without being in the mothers womb. Until that point no, it would not get a say. Besides that, children don't have a say in the political system anyway. You have to be 18 to vote, so technically, no the fetuses don't get a vote.
-
Many of us believe that an an early-stage foetus is not a person, it is just a blob. So you are not choosing someONEs death, you are cutting off a growth which, much later, might have become a person. Until you address this division of opinion, your ranting will do no good. Until you can convince us that the half-formed blob which is aborted is a person, your hysterical shouting that they really, really are is just wasted breath. You need to attack the real issue, not keep declaiming your point.
-
I hate abortion just as much as the next person, but what are we to do? Tell the pregnant woman that she HAS to have the baby? That sounds suspiciously like a police state to me.
-
Human beings kill everyday of their lives to survive. Do we ask a chicken if it wants to be Sunday dinner? Or I suppose a better comparison would be do we ask the egg if it wants to be an omelet?
-
Yeah, don't worry, they're making a special microphone so doctors can ask feti wether they wanna die, or live a miserable life 'cause they parents didn't want him/her.
-
You have very stong beliefs and no one is going to change them - nor are you going to change the minds of any of us who have no problem with it
