My brother turned 18 last year, made $3,900.00 and lived with me the entire year. If I claim him on my taxes, does he still need to do his own?

    nope, you can only do one or the other... Youd be better off claiming him.

    1. was he a full time student for at least some part of 5 months? if yes, then you can claim him and maybe able to also file as head of household if you are not married. If no, then sorry, no claiming him.
    2. did he have any federal and/or state withholding on his W2? yes, then he needs to file just to get his money back. NO, then he does not need to file!
