By looking at your avatar or your user name, Is there a way to tell if you are male or female? I have to click into each users name to find out M or F. We should us a M or F in our user name to let others know. NUNYA~F. LOL

You can tell by my name. It would be nice if when we set up our profiles we are required to enter male or female. ABers can stay very anonymous now.

I don't see any breasts on this Ninja Boy, so I think people could tell that I was a guy. Plus, I think most people just assume people are guys unless otherwise stated. Otherwise, I'd have difficulty explaining why several people think Firebrand and Skeeter are dudes when they're dudettes.

For me, I can tell on mine. I do NOT think it would be a good idea, though. Mainly because we still would not know if they told the truth or not. And would transsexuals put their current gender or the one they feel they are? Who really cares?

Matt is a pretty male sounding name. Girls can be named Mattie, but I've never met a girl named Matt.

Believe it or not I had a few think I was female although it does say male on my profile. Not a big deal to ask or correct if they get it wrong.

YES; it would be nice if we knew what gender that we were talking or commenting to ... I just had a guy get indignant the other day when I suggested he buy a used dress from a thrift store ... LOL . I personally; use my picture. I HOPE folks can figure out that I am male . BUT: I think you are on to something with the "F" and "M" after each name ... The powers here on A/B should really consider that.

No. Chief Petty Officers in the Navy are both male and female. Though the average person might still make a general assumption that I was male anyway, probably still part of the average internal bias of the population, I suppose. I rather think we should leave it as it is...this might encourage more people to check our profile pages.

Nope... My frog has no genitalia. HOWEVER, my username is BigDADDY... What do YOU think? LOL Oh... And many people don't even put their sex in. And it's VERY hard to tell. Some relish in others not knowing. For example, The Troll, a user that has been on AB for some time, was VERY ambiguous about their sex. Then they changed their name to Doggie S, and remained ambiguous for some time. Finally, HE posted changed his avatar to his picture, and posted his picture in his About me. Now we all know. Consider it part of the games people play here.
