  • For your answer,IllonaX, I'm going with movies that strongly affected me emotionally and intellectually weeks after seeing them. As you'll see, I don't always think a movie has to be "entertaining," in the usual sense. The fact that they were, in my opinion, extremely well made, too, is no coincidence I'm sure. * the original 1968 "Night of the Living Dead" - - No other movie has given me more nightmares * " Dancer in the Dark " -- one of the most innovative, emotionally devastating movies I've seen. * " Cloverfield " - - it terrified this jaded horror-genre fan to his core ( no excessive gore, just a tight, little 80 minute film that delivers ) * Director Michael Haneke's original " Funny Games " [ I haven't seen his recent American remake] - - this movie upset me for weeks after seing it. I even wrote Haneke to see if the cast was OK! :) [ And other AB-ers have suggested some really good ones for you.]
