  • what u r talking about is a multi state maga million jackpot that starts off about 13 million and rises if no one wins. i think there are about 10-15 states involved. the regular lotto for NYS rarely goes over 100 million. if it does its every few years or so maybe even longer and that one adds up as well if no one wins the jackpot.
  • I doubt that it's rigged. But a government lottery is just a tax on ignorance of probability theory.
  • statistics show that in hard times more people spend more money on booze, sex and lotto than during times of good prosperity..I guess it's like James Brown said "everybody is looking for, what everybody's looking for today, they're looking for ESCAPE-ISM."
  • If you look at the NY lotto past winnings. In about the last year, the highest jackpot was $19million. You can go find them all at nylottery.org The past jackpot winnings have been been mostly in the teens or lower, no more than $20mil. The current jackpot is going up to 30mil and no one is winning. I feel like it would be one of those times the jackpot would go all the way up to $70 million. If it does go that high, I feel it is rigged because in these times, more people play the lottery, but the more people that play, logically, the chances of the jackpot being gone is higher, so the jackpot should stay around $15 mil, not go up to $70. But in these times, the government needs more money and one way to make money... is from the lotto... I wouldn't be thinking this usually, but I played quick-pick a while ago and look at my lotto ticket... All the numbers circled are repeated numbers. All the ones circled in pencil are repeated numbers in THE SAME COLUMN! There are 3 pairs of quick picks that are EXACTLY the same numbers except for 1 number! Am I really that lucky that if one of those pairs had the winning jackpot numbers, that I would win first and second prize? In other quick-picks I played, there seems to be also a lot of repeated numbers, just not as drastic as this one. What this seems to be showing is quick-pick isnt so random. It is possible that there are numbers that are repeated over and over, and the numbers chosen at jackpot will NEVER be those numbers.
