I am trying to break a lease because I found out that my property management group is not legally operating under Century 21's name. Can they make me pay 1 more month of rent and keep my deposit? Is the lease still valid?

What do you mean they are not legally operating under Century 21's name, I mean, if they lied on lease, the lease is not valid, sounds like something that might get nasty and end up in court. And it is tought with the security deposit, there usually is not too much specific details about it on leases, about what fees apply to what, if they have to clean the carpets, if there is any damage that comes from regualr wear and tear, repainting and such, they might try to keep it even though you haven't done any damage to the property. My suggestion is, consult a lawyer, they should tell you more about it, most lawyers have free consulations, at least you'll know where you're standing.

The security deposit must be given back to you with interest IF there is no damage to the apartment. I am not sure why you are breaking the lease, but if it is not a valid reason, they will ask for all remaining rents, and take you to court if you dont pay it.
