  • It is usually something I did not know was there (very interesting)
  • I just skip it. I prefer answers from people who know what they are talking about, and not cut and paste users.
  • While I don't mind someone cutting and pasting, I can't STAND long, drawn out answers. Please don't post an encyclopaedia volume to answer one of my questions!! I promise you, I will not read it! GRrrrrr!
  • I read it if I can, often the material is hard to follow...if not hard to follow I appreciate the effort.
  • Being very familiar with the Bible myself, I can usually tell whether the person is attempting to answer the question and using a passage in an illustrative manner or is attempting obfuscation by throwing a biblical wall of verbiage at me and really hasn't used his or her mind to consider the question. If it's a large passage, it's usually the latter. At that point I figure I'm dealing with a lazy mind, a closed mind or a flat-out nutter. And I just move on.
  • Usually they are attacking or preaching at me. If they are pleasant about it then I will read it to see what they are sharing.
  • The individual is full of themselves. They got god and you need to know the truff about Yeasus!!!!
  • I think that they are unable to think for themselves. That they have to rely upon an ancient text written by men they have never met 1000's of years ago to answer my question is very frustrating and sad. Unless of course I asked them to quote me scripture specifically. However, I would prefer they just pointed me to the verses location with a short explanation instead. People use the bible out of context too often to answer life's questions.
  • They're too narrow-minded and parochial to face so many of life's problems.
  • I think that unless the bible is relevant to my question, it's a pointless answer.
  • "YAWN"
  • I figure they are typical christians who have shut off critical thought in favor of blind faith and in doin so have compartmentalized the areas of the brain which might allow them to keep believing such rubbish without seeing reason. In doing so they cannot debate or argue religion without using scripture, for it is not in their ability to argue without it, that would require them to actually scrutinize what they are trying to use as proof and possibly come to some realization that it is ludicrous. Like good little sheeples they prefer to find a little verse or anecdote to deliver for any situation, argument or circumstance and not actually think it through for themselves. This relieves them of the burden of actually having to decide anything for themselves or be responsible or accountable for their words or actions...it's god's word, god's will etc etc...of course it's always interpreted the way THEY want to interpret it and applied the way THEY want to apply it in the context they wish to use it..but it's gods word...
  • If I asked for a Biblical answer or that is where the answer is found, I thank them for bringing it out to my attention.
  • That they can not think for themselves.
  • if u don't understand ask them for laymens term...a way that is simpler and understand ? anyone can quote and read but it is not helpful if they can't help another to grasp the answer....so, did someone do this and u were still not getting it? this happens alot...I just say, pardon my ignorance,but....
  • As the Scriptures are Never Wrong, I'd presume (after checking) that they may be a Very Rare Person who Genuinely Cares for their Fellow Man to be putting in a good Answer to Ur Question. Short enough??? John
  • I disregard it. The bible is too contradictory to stand as evidence for anything. To me, it's like getting an answer from a well-known pathological liar (even though it is also well-known that that liar is a very good person).
  • S/he hasn't learnt to think for him/herself.
  • I would think they do it to annoy others and to show how little they really know, because they can copy/paste one answer all over the place instead of using their own words.
  • It depends on whether or not the question was asking what the Bible said or taught on a particular subject. If that's what the question is about, then such an answer is perfectly valid.
  • I don't bother reading it. If I wanted to see that BS I would just read the bible. This website would be lame if everyone's answers were just book quotes.
  • They didn't know the answer.
  • It's very impressive.
  • I think they need to think for themselves.
  • I think sometimes it maybe necessary for people to get the meaning of the question asked ,,no harm done ,,some may not want to read it , some may,,
  • I tend to assume that person is showing that they are unable to think for themselves. I can find quotes from the Bible to support ANY point, and then ten others that support the opposite opinion. The Bible is so wide ranging that you can easily find a quote to support anything. For example, I can find several quotes supporting you committing murder and many more opposing you doing so. I can also find many quotes telling you that you should sleep with your sister, and many that tell you that you shouldn't. Also, to paraphrase Shakespeare, even the devil can quote scripture to prove his argument.
  • i admire them graetly and give them as much points as possibal.
  • If a Biblical question us asked and the answer can be found within it's pages, I have no problem with people using passages to answer a question. You have to realize that not all questions can be answered with a simple yes, no, or maybe. There are people that come to answer Bag looking for a detailed answer and it may take some extra effort and thought to provide it for them but it's all worth it if indeed they do find what they were looking for.
  • I think that the fool is just quoting memorised programming in an effort to stave off answering the question.
  • I think it's a good idea if it's a Biblical question needing a Biblical answer. Some questions need a more detailed answer than others. Some may not like the longer answers but perhaps the one doing the asking would prefer it.
