The Moral Law still applies. Matthew 19:17-78 states: Now someone approached him and said, "Teacher, what good must I do to gain eternal life?" He answered him, "Why do you ask me about the good? There is only One who is good. If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments." For Christians, Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses. Christians are not held to the ceremonial parts of the Mosaic Law concerning of dietary purity, temple worship and sacrifices. Christians are held to the moral law of God, some of which is expressed in the Ten Commandments. However Jesus took the Ten Commandments to the next step summarizing them into the two Great Commandments: • You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. • You shall love your neighbor as yourself. And teaching things like • Everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. • Everyone is our neighbor including our enemies. Therefore we have to go much farther than the original recipients of the Ten Commandments ever dreamed. For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, part 3, section 2: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2.shtml With love in Christ.

I think that they should apply to those for whom they are valid, within the context of that religious culture, if that's what an individual has signed on for. Should they be applied in a secular context as the Christian Reconstructionist movement wishes? Absolutely not.

Not for me. Since Christ died, it's a whole new ball game. No more smiting and avenging for me!
-
no. It would totally eff up college football and ruin lobster fest!

If you believe in them, I guess they still do...they provide context to see the world.

Yes, but only one, the Law of Retaliation, that one that manifest you Breaking by breaking, Eye by eye and Tooth by tooth. Woooo... The New Testament manifest in mouth of Jesus that of Eye by Eye, Tooth by tooth, but Jesus don't manifest that of breaking by breaking in enouncing: If somebody hit you right cheek, them put back the other, the left cheek, and he is very clear to manifest... "You must not make RESISTENCE to the GRIEVANCE of his words". Do you know why? Very simple. Both Prophets are speaking of the Great Pyramid. Follow my instructions. Draw a new axis at the center of COFFER you have into the King's Chamber and duplicate at the left side that what you have at the right side. What do you see? You see the Face of the Lion of Judah, the God of Jews in Egypt. What do you see? You see the Face of the Lion that have a VEIL over the NOSE, the ROCK where the Great Pyramid was raised. Wooooo... Yes, under the ROCK you have the NOSE of the Lion of Judah, the SECRET CHAMBER of the Great Pyramid. But no Scientist of Earth believe me. If somebody believe me, you must be sure they will never call me to reach that Secret Chamber, and not matter I warned at all them they never try to reach it whithout my help as the ENVOY of Divine Constructor. Since the complete Pyramid will collapse by the center to the abysm of waters under the Giza Plateau. Why? Because the Constructor was not stupid to prevent the possibility some scrupulous men reach that Secret Chamber, since the scientific knowledge you have into the NOSE of the Lion is for the benefit of the entire mankind, and not for the benefit of Israel or Vatican.

Still? I wish we'd get out of that stinking desert altogether. God doesn't live there.

Sure. Not all of them, because not all CAN practically apply today (no Temple in Jerusalem, no judicial system as outlined in the Bible). In fact, most of the laws of the Bible never applied to the majority of humankind, they were given to the Israelites at Mt. Sinai for them and their descendants to follow. Most people agree that some fundamental principles of the Bible apply across the board and should definitely apply today. For example: - No murder - No stealing - No cruelty to animals - No adultery or incest

The Noahide covenant still does apply to Gentiles" Don't engage in idolatry or polytheism, don't engage in sexual immorality, don't murder or otherwise wrong other people, and (for some reason) don't drink blood or eat unbled or strangled animals. And for Jews who don't believe in the New Covenant, the Mosaic Law still applies.

yes, just not the "rigid" laws God had put in place to keep Israelites in line and holy until the Savior came down...HE(the Redeemer) did not come to change the 19 Commandments or moral laws of the Almighty, quite the contrary...HE came to offer ALL, HOPE of Eternal Life, and split the RIGHT and WRONG..cause division..HIS on one side , satan's on the other... there are no more atonements (animal blood sac.),demanded circumcision, specific eats, rituals(passover),holy temples, etc.it is no longer necessary..Jesus fullfilled God's Plan...once , for All..there is only but for us but to BELIEVE in the Father,Son and Holy Spirit and walk the WALK...HE is the "passover" , the precious Blood of the Lamb.. these are my personal reasonings...In Jesus

It was given to Israel not for death but for life. Deu 32:46-47 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. For it [is] not a vain thing for you; because it [is] your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong [your] days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it. Isaiah predicts those who are sons of strangers choosing to keep God's sabbath or sabbaths. Isa 56:3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I [am] a dry tree. For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose [the things] that please me, and take hold of my covenant. Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Personally I choose to keep Torah as God leads even though I am not Jewish and it has been a tree of life not death.
