Well primarily the differences in population...the numbers of Chinese and Indians are so much greater than Americans that statistically there should be more grads...that plus the focus that Chinese, especially, put on education...

Because Americans are lazy entitleist sheeptards in general. I'm a natural born engineer in the US....but my manager/boss is from India and the most skillful of my coworkers...including one in particular I consider "my hero", is from Singapore and works according to his local ethics...the calibre of my fellow US born and raised cohorts is quite sorry/disappointing. Chalk it up to our government schools...which are really learning how to make it worse...quick.

Because engineering is a hard school. But, don't worry. The US leads the world in lawyers.

I didn't know there was one. There might be fewer engineering grads on average in the US, but go to towns with technical colleges and you will find plenty of grads who probably can't get a job.
