  • It's not any less discusting. Doing that is cruel and intolerable no matter who does it. So if you think of doing that, you could spend your life in jail. It doesn't make a difference.
  • If you're trying to draw a comparison to the Bible, you've failed miserably. 1. God isn't hiring a butler - He's creating a race of divine sons to serve as priest-kings to all creation, the principle job of which is to manifest God's righteousness, holiness and compassion to the rest of creation. 2. Wantonly despising that calling and purpose is more than just "displeasing": it is ultimately murderous of all people and things, including ones own self. 3. Acts of divine wrath only followed upon the most grievous, obscene, and persistant profusion of wickedness - and where the most wicked made even the most minor efforts towards repentance they were spared ... at least until they went back to their old ways and multiplied them. 4. In this fallen world, all men die. In the eternal scheme of things, it hardly matters exactly how or when. But physical death isn't permanent - all will be resurrected into imortality one day. But spiritual death is permanent. Anything and everything necessary for rescuing as many as possible from the latter is what justifies and necesitates the former. 5. God is Goodness itself and their is none apart from him, and consequently no "heaven" apart from Him. To follow the path of self-love, pride, and vindictiveness is to reject God and thus reject all Goodness and eternal communion along with it. All that's left then is Hell: eternal separation from God and thus from all that He is.
  • Because gods are traditionally the authors of morality and exempt from it by reason of their divinity. You poor moral suckers had better toe the line though!
