Open Office is definitely the way to go. Used to be another "602 office" but it wasnt as compatible with microsoft as open office is.

Yes you can, but it would be pirated software and you would run the risk of it containing a virus, so I wouldn't recommend it. Open Office is MS Office compatible and it's free. You can download it here: http://www.openoffice.org/
