  • That's a tough one. I believe that I would have sided with the Federalist. A strong central goverment was needed, as seen later in American History, yes the National Bank was not a permant fixture, it established some great protcols that should have been followed once established by all other banks. When the National Bank's charter was not renewed, the wild-cat banks started popping up, giving easy loans to Westerns. This was one of many causes that resulted in the Great Depression. Banks gave out money that they could not back, and so the stock market crashed. Altough the anti-federalists made a good point with the desire for a "bill of rights".
