  • Their bodyguard fund. I suspect they'll need it if their four states lag behind the rest of the nation in recovering. I'm sure they're counting on the fact that each state economy is heavily intertwined with the US economy as a whole, but simply refusing to take action on this will cause problems. Especially when you've got an opportunity to get free aid in creating at least some work and putting some money into the state economy. I see this backfiring, costing them governorships, rather than getting them the Whitehouse.
  • The working class American people! :) Like Bill Maher said, we would have a better chance of getting our money back if they took the bailout money and dropped it from a helicopter lol.
  • I'll send you a bank account number....;-D....
  • I think Sarah Palin does not think her state needs it. Where should it go - I'm not sure. Maybe back to pay all of this - how about that..like a deposit on the deficit.
  • Those governors' respective constituencies.
  • Arnie will have it....he is in way too deep to get out of this one.
  • Hey. Send a little over here. I could use a little monetary stimulus.
  • Here's a novel idea. We give it back to the people that work hard to make it and not the one that don't work.
  • Louisiana's Governor B. Jindal has "suggested" he may not take any of the reconstruction money, it is being said he will deduct a certain unknown amount from unemployment checks as his state has a budget deficit this information is from a Louisiana newspaper. I think this governor forgot all about the money that is needed to reconstruct Louisiana after Katrina unless of course he doesn't mind if the levees fail again. The other three Republican governors may or not take the money, it is up to them. Frankly I don't think anyone cares but their own people who will suffer with their political ambitions. I personally think the money not received should go back to the reconstruction fund and perhaps further help some other states in dire need like California now in deep trouble. They will tell the President of their denial to receive the money when on Tuesday next the President speaks to congress, how nice and childish of them, the intention is clear as water!!! http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2009/02/jindal_rejects_32_million_in_s.html#post http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/politics/40014727.html
  • Given that it is not just free $$$$ to the states. I think that it is any Governor responsiblity to look at the strings attached to such $$$$ and see if it is indeed worth letting the federal government pull those attached strings.
