I received a letter saying the noncustodial parent was being taken to court for contempt, he hasn't paid the whole amount of child support in about 7 months. Its suppose to be 620.00 a month but its been 90.00 and this next one is 10.00. What will happen

It depends on your state. In my case (Texas) The judge found him in contempt, sentenced him to 60 hours of community service, set an amount to be paid monthly for back child support and attorney fees in addition to current support payments and gave him a few months before a compliance hearing, if he has not paid what he is supposed to and/or has no done his community service, he goes to jail for 6 months when we go back for the compliance hearing. -
