I would get extremely drunk.

Start looking for another job. Network if you can. Check your bank account and see how long your money will last until you get another paycheck.
-
File for unemployment as quick as you can. It isn't a bad thing. It'll help you stay on your feet while you try and find another job.
-
Unemployment Office.... if that doesn't work... Welfare Office... Food Stamp Office
-
Use a tissue?
-
Get a plane ticket and come live with GJ! Loll..
-
I would look for both a small job just to keep you on your feet until you get another real job, and I would look for another career.
-
Get drunk and cry for 1 time only!! Then, get your resume ready and start emailing everybody you know to keep a look out. check the ads every day, check Monster.com or Careerbuilder.com daily and register with a temp service ASAP to get a fast job if you are low on funds.
-
File for unemployment and you can collect while you look for a new job. Nice to have money coming in while you look.
-
Frankly, get another job. It is not hard to get into a state of depression and anxiety which is difficult to move out of. Making looking for a job a job, sometimes creates the attitude and momentum necessary to make things work. Employers can pick up on this subconsciously and hire you for it. Good Luck!

go on a vacation, take a break for a while.

take all of your savings and buy cocaine with it. rock it up and sell it as crack 'till you get enough to buy more coke than you did the first time. repeat this process till you have a whole bunch of money. then buy the place that you used to work at, then fire the person that fired you. Or you could get the recipe for meth and buy a swimming pool. use the pool to make a shitload of meth. sell the meth and buy the place you used to work at. then fire the person that fired you. lol
-
Better yet, come up to Santa Cruz and get extremely drunk with me, it's my Friday! I have a 40 of Mickeys waiting for you!! _
-
i am truly sorry for you.don't get bummed and wait till your savings is gone.put on a smile and get your resume out there.GOD BLESS.

Apply for unemployment benefits, update your resume, look on the internet for another job, look in the newspaper for another job, apply for interview for jobs.
-
Sorry to hear that. Apply for unemployment benefits.
-
Try to get some friends together to talk. It is important to know that you have friends in your life who value you as a person (they really do). Don't panic. Think of this as an opportunity to do something better. I've been laid off twice in my life and both times I got a better job and was happier in the end.
-
Another person jobless due probably to the economy. I am sorry that you are laid off. I would file for unemployment benefits. I don't know what your situation is, you may be able to get other training or find another comparable job. I wish you luck. Anyway go down to the employment office in your area and set up an appointment and they will also have jobs posted there.
-
file for Unemployment and if your in a right to work state then make sure you have plenty of documents that you were laid off. Plenty of those companies in those states are criminals and will say that you got fired due to something stupid so they don't have to pay your unemployment.
-
It looks like you have got the biggy "Apply for unemployment". Get your resume ready, also check http://www.usajobs.gov/.
-
File for unemployment ASAP and get those resumes out. Sign up to Monster, Career Builder(I'm sure there are more sites). Sorry to hear that you got canned.
-
That really sucks, Rocket... I'm sorry to hear that. :-( It sounds like you have gotten some pretty good advice, and I agree... File for unemployment and start sending your resumes flying! Good luck, my friend!
-
I'm very sorry to hear that. The first thing that I would do is to file for unemployment and the second would be to start looking everywhere I could for a permanant job that is similar in pay scale to what I had before. I wish you the best of luck.

See if you're eligible for benefits. Otherwise, look for a job, but DO NOT expect to find one. You will eventually, but it'll take months. Don't rely on the Internet to apply for jobs. Rather, google search employment agencies in your area. Hit as many as four a day. THEY WILL FIND YOU SHIT JOBS WITH SHIT PAY. Take them. Use the jobs as opportunity to network yourself. Make friends. When you find the agencies, call them to make sure that they're at the address listed and that they exist at all. Ask if they accept walk ins. If they say "No." Tell them you'd like to schedule an appointment, but you'll call back later. SHOW UP ANYWAY. They almost always accept walk ins. Good luck

Enjoy the freedom for a day or two, then get to work on finding another job. Rocket, you are too fine a person. There is an organization, a cause, that needs you.

ooops

I'm sorry to hear that Rocket. I do not know any of the details of your situation other than losing your job but I'll take a shot at this. 1. File for all possible benefits immediately, don't wait until you are behind on things. Unemployment, food stamps, anything available. They are there for this purpose. Look at them as a hand up, not a hand out with the goal of getting off them ASAP. 2. Update your resume and look at your every day 'job' as finding a good job. Don't procrastinate, sleep in, let yourself get depressed or give up. At interviews do not project "you need to give me this job because I really need it, I am desparate", instead project "hire me because I will work hard and be a great asset to your company", be very positive and enthusiastic. Start within your current geographic area and if within 2-3 weeks you do not have any solid prospects and things are looking dim expand to outside your area. A good job is worth moving for. If it becomes evident you need to increase/improve your skill set work hard to do so. Talk to all your friends and acquaintences about jobs they might know to be open. Contact former co-workers, bosses, anyone you can think of that might be able to give you the inside track on a job opportunity. Indeed.com is a great job search engine as it pulls from all the other sites, one site instead of going site to site. 3. Contact all your creditors, mortgage company, credit cards, banks, etc. and see if you can get a better deal, or short term relief from payments or interest. If you have credit cards, stop using them. 4. Sit down and take a good inventory of all your assets and debts, see exactly where you stand. Develop a budget based only upon your basic needs. If you have cable or satellite TV, cancel it, and any other non-essential expenses. (gym memberships, sirius radio, internet gaming, etc.) Keep you internet service, it will be a tool for job searching and communicating with prospective employers. 5. Have a garage sale, sell non-basic things you have accumulated that you really don't need. Perhaps sell items at ebay. Accumulate some cash and set it aside for the basic needs of life only. 6. Stop going out to the movies, restaurants of any kind, renting movies, etc. until you find a job and get back on your feet. 7. Spend less time at answerbag and more time looking for a job. That's all I can come up with right now. I wish you the best of luck.

Log on to the best job sites and apply for as many as possible that matches your CV.
-
Sorry that happened but you are not alone. Dig deep online and their are recruiters specifically for your trade. You may need to relocate though. My advice is save your money it will take weeks to process your unemployment and get a check. In the meantime, call those credit card companies and negotiate for lower interest rates and look at the big financial picture. Also, start networking to pick up contract work and take a part time job to supplement. You are allowed to make so much and they will tell you before it affects your benefit amount. Also, research with unemployment if you pay for COBRA medical out of your pocket is it reimbursable. Another question, I was unaware to ask until someone tipped me off. Clip coupons, find a roommate, do whatever you have to in order to make ends meet.

Its been a while. What was the first thing you did, or should I say who? Wait! Please tell me you didn't lose your sense of humor along with your job. Go a find a rich boyfriend or...well, the other lady passed away, someone needs to take her place behind the green door.

First off, I would say I'm so sorry and do you have a family. I would just take some time and think some things over in your head and when your ready the next day start updating your resume and start looking online and in the newspapers. It will take some time but you'll find a job, it's just going to take some time.
