  • Yes - if you wondering why I would think so, ask yourself, how many guys wants more than one lady. So there must be a need for it.... :)
  • I don't see why not - adults can make their own decisions. However, I think when combined with religion these relationships can sometimes be abusive. Perhaps polygamous civil partnerships would be the way to go?
  • I don't see a problem with polygamy if all people involved agree with it. The physical part of it can get complicated if you let it. Perhaps it would reduce the number of affairs and divorce. Who knows! The polygamous family I know of are very happy and wouldn't change a thing. They struggle just like every marriage but have more people to fall back on in a crisis. Not a bad thing when you think about it.
  • Absolutely. Why shouldn't they be? Why should one religious tradition dominate the rest of society with values that are clearly non-universal?
  • Why not? And it's gonna be more than a guy with more than one wife. There will be many unions in which a guy will be just one of several husbands to one women. So I think it may just balance out. Especially since so many of the older ladies will be getting left by the wayside by the dudes who want more than one woman, usually they go for the younger ladies.
  • God allowed it in the OT.....note , not divorce , vows broken...but a great example of what it does to a man is Jacob ,with Leah and Rachel....it is hard enough to serve God with 1 wife , let alone many...and it causes great strife among their children....so, no, I do not think it should be legal...God did not INTEND for man to have but 1 helpmeet...as in Adam and Eve...
  • It can't be legalized by the state due to property division problems upon divorce.
  • Absolutely. Now that same sex marriage is being legalized, we need to focus on stopping the bigotry against people who choose or are born polygamists.
