  • How bad of a crime do you mean? I have seen people drink underage, attack other people with beer bottles, buy / use / sell drugs, have sex in public, shoplift, vandalize buildings, turn without using a signal, and jaywalk. I've never witnessed a murder or anything that serious, though.

  • many times :(
  • I've witnessed many beat downs in my life.
  • Shopliffers nearly everyday as i work in a shop,i dont think people round here have grabbed the serve yourself concept yet lol
  • A few, actually... 1) (CLOSE) Just got to work from school (about 13yo) at a small store my father owned. Only the cashier and I there. Went to bathroom for a few minutes, and when I came out, she was shaking, and customer was calling the cops. Turns out she was robbed while I was in the back. What REALLY shook her is after they had the money, the guy looked at her, said "You're xxx's Mom, aren't you?", cracked his shotgun and started to load it. (Apparently, she hadn't let her daughter date this guy.) Just then, someone came in the door, saw what was happening, and ran out yelling "The minute-mart's being roobed". They left, and were caught a couple of blocks away in an apartment a few minutes later. She was worried about what would have happened if I'd have come out when they were there. 2) CAUGHT a mugger - Leaving work a few years ago, was in the parking garage, and heard a noise in the far corner, sounding like an alarm. When I looked there, a guy blasted through the doors with another not too far behind. I could then hear the alarm - "Help... Help... Help...". The guy ran across the garage to my side, tried the doors there (they were locked), and turned up the ramp toward me. I stepped out in front of him, and spread my arms (40" sleeves, BTW! LOL) I looked close and all he had was a purse (belonged to the lady he mugged). He feinted one way and tried to run the other, to the side I carried my briefcase (heavy with papers), ran into it, slipped on gravel, glanced off a pillar, and fell, with me right on top of him. (I'm 6'-9" and built like a retired football lineman.) He sturggled, got my arm up under his, and him almost into a half-nelson (if I remember my wrestling terms right) hold. When he tried to raise up, I leaned more heavily onto him. About that time another guy came up and kneeled on his legs. He protested, but we held him until an escort cop came, who cuffed him and called for backup. (My proudest moment!) 3) I've called 911 before the signs went up on our interstates in Indiana for impaired drivers. One I KNOW got caught... was called by the cops who told me he WAS drunk and would spend the night in the "Hilton" (local jail)... Another we followed from Lafayette toward home at about 80-90MPH. He weaved in and out of traffic at that speed. Called the cops, they TRIED to catch him once, but we drove by them, then they told me they saw his car, knew what it was, and when they came up behind me, 911 told me to back off to the side of the road and wait for the cops. They pulled him over about 1/2 mile in front of us. Turns out the guy was wanted for drug-dealing and had drugs in his car. So... YEAH... I've witnessed a few! ;-)
  • Yes I have, small and large. not pleasant. I have also been the victim of a pretty viscious mugging.

  • If piracy is a crime then almost everyone in our country uses pirated software including windows. :D I don't know if this is a crime but when I was in college the canteen guy gave me the keys to get myself the cold drink from the fridge. When I did that, another student quickly got himself a cold drink out of the fridge. He was kinda macho so I didn't say anything to him or anyone else.
  • When I lived in Nigeria I witnessed a man take a loaf of bread, he was caught almost immediately by everyone around. The people restrained him and proceeded to take his right hand off....I was just 8 years old then. The golden rule my father had taught us about living or visited foreign countries was never talk about religion and government, never steal or do drugs in anyway shape or form. The witness of that punishment drove that point home for myself and my brother at the time.
  • Yeah everytime a reality tv show comes on. But seriously I've seen plenty first person. Robbery, assault, DUI.
  • i saw my friend being mugged and stabbed in a village near london
  • Not only that, but prevented a robbery (all by my scrawney, but packed with "yarblockoes", self!). So don't @#$% around!
  • good grief, I was going to say I had witnessed a crime, but in fact, after reading the earlier submissions, I dont think I have personally, however my 9 year old son was involved in an armed robbery, while he was at an after school education programme, the criminals were hooded, smashed their way into a seeries of shops, weilding shotguns and sawn off guns, and proceeded to smash and grab and shoot for money in the next shop. The children were required to give evidence to try and find out who the three men were.
  • Yes. I was shot in my stomach. Nothing serious however. I was participating in street gangs stuff when I was 17.
  • i saw a 13 year old get drunk
  • Let's see: littering, assault (albeit minor), theft, drunk driving (the jackass drove onto my lawn), numerous traffic violations (speeding, running red lights etc.), and probably more.
  • More times than I can count -- but nothing major like murder.
  • Yeah I actually saw a gang shootout while I was at a gas station in North Minneapolis
