It has changed its sheets, so to speak, i.e., name changes and dressing itself up with professional fronts, but don't kid yourself, it still exists and recruits.
-
It has influence but not nearly as much as it did
-
Not much anymore. They are not as big as they used to be. If they exist, they have to hide it, which makes thier strength very limited.

Thank goodness its influence has lessend. The only time I even hear KKK is on Jerry Springer (is that show even still on the air?)! There is no room for discrimination. It's is not nice.

practically none, they remain today only as a muffled small little faction in the far far far right of conservative ideology

about as much as the black panthers....or any other racial/partial/hate group.....

The use to have a ton of power and influence back in the day but not anymore. The Klan is dead and the the few members left will not revive it. Their only hope is for america to become racist again and I dont see that happening. They hated too many people and that kind of thing just doesnt help organizations to last long at all

The groups who use that moniker have little influence as respective entities, but many of their ideas are common even among people who don't consider themselves racist. The anonymity of the net has revealed that racist thought is deeply rooted in the US. Many of the same thoughts expressed on white supremacist sites are often expressed, not only on message forums, but mainstream outlets like Fox News. Although their direct influence is minimal due to their anti-government stance, their ideas have a lot of weight in politics, particularly right wing politics.
