Short answer... You can't. Long answer... You could do it but it would require the purchase of equipment, the possible inactivation of your cell phone AND computer hacking skills you don't possess (or you wouldn't have asked this question). So unless you have a cell phone express card (that uses the same network as your cell provider), a good friend with a SIM card cloner and the ability to set up a virtual SIM card program on your computer to fool the express card... ... don't even try. Hope this helps.

Actually yes, you can, if your phone supports Bluetooth. You also need bluetooth on your computer, which if you don't have it yet, you can buy a USB Bluetooth Adapter. I found an application for my Mac called 'Blue Phone Elite' http://mirasoftware.com/BPE2/ It works great most of the time. Sometimes my bluetooth connection is flaky. For Windows, I use 'Blue Soleil 6' with my usb bluetooth adapter. http://www.bluesoleil.com/Download/index.asp?topic=bluesoleil6x After you install it you can double-click on the icon in the system tray, next to your clock, and after you've paired up your phone to your pc, you can right-click on your phone that's listed and click on either View Contacts, View Messages, or New Message and do your texting. I'm sure there are others for both Mac and Windows, but these are what I've found and they work for me.

Go to www.fivedigittext.com! It allows you to send and receive free text messages from your PC. You need to create an account to receive them, but the account is free!. You can optionally get notified by email when you receive an incoming text.

Spoofing SMS messages is illegal in the US. So that's out of the question. I actually used to have a Motorola RAZR V3XX that I could plug into my computer (motorola uses USB connectors on their phones so it's pretty easy to do) and with motorola phone tools type up a message in the software and send it through my phone. Dunno how that helps you though.
