Sounds fine to me;0)

aye, but some questions are shite, although the one on the link, if worded differently could have sparked a decent debate
-
I have seen some take on a duty to revenge against someone for any reason to distroy them for what purpose, this AB member is not a competition. Keep positive and learn as you go .
-
I agree with you
-
Sorry on this one I cant agree, some need to be, to show how disgusting the question is. For example this question: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/1089882 Is anyone else as annoyed as I am about Homeless people always holding up signs in the same spot every day at the same times? And some of them even knock on your window or just start begging you...why don't they just go get a job?

I can't agree with you. I think this question re-iterates a point that Emma the ignorant inadvertantly made. Victims, whinging, whining. Yes I hate the fact that innocent people died because of terrorists. But I do not hate that people are rising up against those terrorists today. However what feedback did America give the terrorists? Didn't they declare war against them. If we got rid of -ve ratings can we get rid of the war against terrorism? or just sit back and give them all a big fat 0. Let's all just sit back quietly and let injustice get a 0 instead of a negative response. That would make the world and answerbag a happier place. Love, peace and chicken grease.

No, I don't agree. I don't care about ratings and neither should you. They're meaningless and are absolutely no indication that a question or answer is helpful, factual, or meaningful.
-
I disagree, the massive level of ignorance and bigotry in some of the questions that I've read deserve a negative rating.
-
Yes I agree, but also will state I do not believe an answer should have a negative rating either. a zero shows a question or answer is unhelpful enough. I am not totally against down-rating but not to the point where it leaves a negative mark. If a bad answer has +2 then you should only be allowed to bring it down to a zero. If it is so bad people feel the need to make an example out of them it should be flagged and removed.

Maybe a downrate should only be made if a mandatory comment was made to explain the downrate. And while I am thinking about it, maybe any rating of any kind should require a comment explaining why. Anonymous rating is like talking behind someone's back. It's cowardly. If you have an opinion, express it. When I first got here, I really did not understand this whole rating schtick. Now that I have a clue, I will no longer use the rating button either way without an explanation. That will cause me to not knee jerk a drive by click if I see something I don't like. I have picked up my first negative downrate troll. The question was controversial and my answer obviously was not well received by at least one idiot. But so far every day, I am getting a new -5. I think it is hilarious.

I would agree. I never downrate, unless it is just SO offensive an answer. When some nerd can DR an answer just because they disagree, it is a bad system. Rather than downrate, if it is a question or answer I feel is important, I will comment and say why I disagree. Why can't everyone do this. Just giving a minus is stupid. Any yahoo can do that.
