Will the Dems ever admit the stimulus bill was wrong or the Reps ever say that it was the right way to go? How will anyone know that things wouldn't have better, worse or the same without?

this stimulus bill is just going to add fuel to the fire. The United States is on the point of collapsing and this porked stimulus package put the final nail in the coffin

Time will tell whether this was a brilliant move or a disastrous one that only makes things worse. I'm willing to give it until January 2010 to see some real improvement. If that doesn't happen, I think more people than myself will be angry.

Will anyone admit they were wrong? Probably not, at least not en masse. People don't like admitting fault, society tells us it's bad to be wrong. Regarding the last part of your question, the best indicator is history. Lowering taxes and deregulating the private sector has been tried before, and so has increased government spending. Of course no situation is exactly like another, that's why I said "best indicator" not "the only correct indicator".

That is the "beauty" (please note the sarcasm) of party politics. They will both spin it no matter what happens. In my lifetime I have seen so many things revised that it is sometimes hard to tell if some things did not just disappear in the memory hole.
