Which do you prefer.....The smell of fresh cut grass, or the smell of the first rain after a dry patch?

Picture a freshly mowed fairway at around 7:00 am. Actually, they are still mowing as you hit your first shot. Birds are chirping all about. You wind up, ready for that first swing of the day. In mid swing, you let one go. So much for the aroma.:) I do like the fresh cut grass though:)

Rain, by far! [ The freshly cut grass is OK but it's usually at the expense of listening to 45 minutes of someone's roaring, loud lawnmower - one of the ugliest sounds to me. :) I bought a battery-powered lawnmower that simply purrs for just that reason. Ha! ( Sorry for the editorial.)]

I have to go with "fresh cut grass". I live in the Los Angeles Basin and the first rain, that washes all the smog from the air, stinks!

I'd go for either right now because it would mean this dreadful winter is over and glorious summer is on the way. But, if I had to choose I would say fresh cut grass.

As I suffer from Hay Fever it has to be the rain, the smell of the first rain is nice anyway
