A non profit organization is one that operates on donations from others. Funds can come from many scources, like government funding, grants, fundraisers like bake sales, selling items for a business that will donate a part of the procedes to that organization. Radio solicitation, TV solicitaion for funds too can be used to raise the much needed funds to keep the organization going. A good example is the Jerry Lewis Telethon.
