Some 20 year-old guy came on here and talked about his 16 year-old girlfriend. That's a four year difference. I'm 17. If I were to go out with a 13 year-old, would that be as acceptable?

It's a sticky situation either way. If he is dating a 16-year-old and he is 20, then there are legal repercussions if her parents choose to pursue them. Legally, it is acceptable to date someone who is 13 when you are 17, but do you really want to have a romantic relationship with someone that young?

at 16 you are old enough to make your own mind up and age is just a number,however 13 is still just a kid and for a 17 yr old to go out with a 13 yr old would be wrong. why would a 17 yr old want to go out with a 13 yr old anyway.

I don't think it's the age difference that people see. It's the age of the younger person and the fact that a 13 year old is probably not old enough to have a relationship. For example a 28 and a 32 year old...does that seem bad in any way to anyone??
