  • Definitely. Regional cuisines vary greatly. So do local produce and meats. I'm surprised you had a lot of fast fried food in Florida. I've always found it very seafood oriented in most places with some strong pockets of very excellent Cuban foods.

  • It would be more accurate to say that cuisine varies regionally. For example, cuisine of the Pacific Northwest tends to favor fresh seafood, while traditional cuisine of the Southeast tends to include a large amount of slow-cooked meats with heavy sauces. There are, however, exceptions, and some states have cuisines which tend to be very localised. In Florida, you'll find Floribbean cuisine which is heavily influenced by Cuban cuisine. In Louisiana, you'll find Cajun cuisine has a heavy influence. In California you have New California cuisine characterised by culinary fusion of different world cuisines and an emphasis on local, seasonal produce.
