I went through a severe depression that I could not dig my way out of by myself. I took an antidepressant that my doctor prescribed to me and my depression got better, although I felt really ill while I was on it. They changed the meds and the new one made me feel whole again without any side effects. Don't be afraid of it, they really do work. Sometimes it takes a while to find what works for you but the trial and error is well worth it. And don't listen to those who tell you to simply get over it yourself. There's a surprising amount of people out there who don't realize that it's a chemical imbalance in the body that causes it and you can't just get over it.
