Mine was a 2007 Chevy Suburban LT 4X2 W/ FlexFuel, NO onstar, XM or fancy wheels and a whopping 17K+ miles. It was so cool driving that monster on the roads.

I sure can, it was a 98 Chevy Malibu. I got it when I was sixteen and in the long run I had to get a new engine put in because I was naive and didn't get my oil changed when I should have.

Yes. I got my first car in 1976 after years of motorcycles.
It was a secondhand Standard-10. Made in India.
Rattled a little but the engine never failed me.
Indipendent suspension on all four wheels.
I still remember the pleasure driving it.
It was like a hanging cradle swaying sideways.
The manufacturer closed business as the Japanese models came in - in the 90's.

I was fresh out of college. I had just been hired for my first teaching position. The school administrator took me to the bank and I left with a brand new 1965 Plymouth Barracuda that only had 25 miles on it as I recall.

No one ever gave me a car, but my grandpa let me drive his when he could no longer drive. It was a black 1949 Ford with chromed spotlights and a metal visor over the front windows. Chrome hub caps and nice cloth interior. Learned to drive a stick shift in that car. Grateful.

My first car was a 56 chevy 2dr belair, paid $550 dollars for it in 1968. I started working when I was 13, no dad living with my grandpa money was hard to come by. You had to work for it. I worked on a farm for 3 1/2 years after school and on saturdays and most sundays. At 16 1/2 I spotted a yellow hardtop with a 283, 4 barrel, double hump heads and lumpy cam, 4 speed, and black tuck and roll interior. It has it all, cragars SS's, dual glass packs, front bumper and splash pan removed, the prefect hotrod and all the girls wanted a ride. The owner got drafted and was going to Vet Nam. Yes he made it back. I didn't know how to drive a stick, but I learnt real quick (15 Mins). Had that car through high school sold it and brought me a 1969 GTX in 71.

Ah Keithold, you always seem to ask the questions I feel like answering! :)

My first car was a Blue '87 Holden Barina... It's still registered, though a friend's driving it around. My ex-wife's grandparents bough it new, and now it's done over 300,000 km. Blows a little bit of blue smoke and sometimes has trouble switching off, but still a happy little car overall!

Not counting the one my cousin and I built when we were kids. We named it Hippocrates. My first car at the age of 18 was a 1937 Chevy. It cost $30. and the next day I had to dish out $50. for three months of insurance. The car was 8 years older than I was. I loved that car.

1985 Lincoln Town Car - best car ever built. When I got it it had just over 30k miles on it. Had been an old lady's garage pet - hadn't left the garage in 13 years. Love the car.

Incidentally, it's currently parked waiting for me to get the money together to buy a new battery. Then it'll be my primary means of transportation again. Just over 101k miles now and still running great.

it was a 1955 chevy. i drove it everywhere. it was six years old when i got it. i sold it to my uncle and he drove it everywhere. he used to fill it up with sheep manure from one farm and take it to his strawberry fields at another farm. then the forward gears went out and he drove it backwards all over the farm. the last i saw it, it had grass growing out of the hood and all the windows were shot out.

55 Chevrolet. V8, 165hp. Powerglide,(2 speed_) autotrans. As I remember, it got about 5 miles a gallon but who cared. Gas was 25cents a gallon!

Obviously, that was more than a couple of years ago.
Maybe I am getting old.Where did the years go?? Anybody seen them?

Yes, it was a 1984 Ford Escort L. It was a diesel, a 5 speed, with only an AM radio and no air conditioning. But, it was mine, all mine! It was only four years old when I got it, so it was a great car for a few years.
