  • Tornadoes aren't usually named. A few which are extremely devastating and abnormally powerful are given names just to be discussed in the media or meteorological community, but it's not a formal naming process. Hurricanes are named because they last longer and happen less frequently. It would be nearly impossible to name all the tornadoes that happen every year. I have never had a hurricane with my name on it, though.
