an imitation of the Chrysler PT crusiser, not very original in design. I would not own one.

FACT: The car cannot be considered an imitation PT Cruiser due to the fact that the PT Cruiser and the HHR was designed by the very same person. He was hired by Chrysler and Chevy to create a low cost vehicle with retro lines. He came through both times creating a massive hit on both sides. OPINION: The HHR looks cleaner (smoother lines), it gets much better MPG, roomier inside, better/smoother ride, has more available options and is built using better parts. The PT Cruiser parts is taken majority from the Neon. Drive them both and see the difference. It was hands down a no brainier for me.

I must disagree. The HHR isn't a smoother ride, in my opinion, but it does have the same suspension as a ford f1-50.

I've owned one for just over two years. In my opinion, the car is a piece of crap. I've had numerous problems with the front end, the temperature guage works sporadically and when it isn't working, the air condition also doesn't work. There is a strange noise coming from the rear somewhere that has been there since I bought it,(used) and, no one can figure out what's causing it. And, some of Chevy's better ideas: the battery is in the very rear of the car next to the spare tire. The electric window controls are on the door? Hell, no! They are down low, hard to reach, on the center console. And....like most cars, it's quick and easy to change a headlight bulb, right? WRONG!!! While on most cars, you just pop the hood, disconnect the wires, take out the old bulb, put the new one in, hook up the wires, shut the hood and you're good to go, on this idiots car of WTF, you have to take off the plastic liner inside the front wheel well and access the wires that way. Are you kidding me??? The car is a piece of crap. I hate it. I wish I had never bought it. Oh yeah, no thanks to Carfax (a total waste of money) turns out the f'ing thing was in a wreck and now the paint on the hood has giant cracks in it. I couldn't sell this hunk of crap. No one would want it. Do I sound bitter? I hope so.
