My son (aged 17) has been offered settlement for personal injury in a road traffic accident. His legal protection solicitor says he MUST have a barrister accept the offer and the money MUST be put in trust for him until he is 18. Is this true?

I don't know what jurisdiction you are in, but since you use the terms barrister and solicitor, I know you are not in the U.S. Therefore, I cannot accurately answer your question. However, if a solicitor told you this is the requirement in your jurisdiction, why would you take anonymous advice on AB over the advice of that solicitor? -
